Blatant muppetry

Well, nothing much to tell you right now... school holidays... all the usual stuff... did even write a poem the other day... can't show it to you... lucky escape...

Anyway, we did see the new Muppets movie yesterday (h was SO keen to see it... she loves movies... loves Muppets... and yes, I do give Muppets a capital letter and I rarely give it to other more conventionally "important" words... ). The Muppets always get big showbiz names to appear alongside them and in this movie some of the cameos were... OK but there was one surprise one that we really enjoyed. It's in the clip below so if you want a surprise at the cinema then don't watch this:

And don't watch this either. It features the same actor and the bonus treat of my favourite regular guest on this well-known comedy show:

Hell, if I had to have a crazy-for-Jesus, Texan Mom then I'd happily take Laurie Metcalf. I've loved her since "Roseanne". Oh go on... here's a little bit of that too:

Next week something sensible. Maybe.

I still love the Muppets...always will deserve that capital "M". :) Tell h I'm jealous she's seen this and I haven't.

I don't get to watch "Big Bang Theory" often but the couple of times I did, Sheldon's Mom was there. It's probably wrong, but as a southerner, I laughed at her harder than anyone.

Thanks for starting the day with a giggle.

What's great about Sheldon's Mom is that although they laugh at her (and so do we) she's not always wrong. And part of that may be the writing but part of it is Laurie Metcalf too - she can give even the shallowest part depth!

Get writing - I am sorely missing your poetry - what has happened to it?

Oh God, I need to get out more. I only recognise Kermit and Animal.

I've never seen the Big Bang Theory, but that clip was hilarious! And the muppet/man clip was hilarious - and the Roseanne...

Mike's looking at me sideways now (I was listening with the headphones on - ha!).

Weaver - I am writing a poem here and there... and I wrote the great big long poem (which I did send you the link to). I'm a bit out of love with the whole business at the moment, it must be said though. I'm treading water a bit, it feels like... waiting for a big wave!

Titus - after the month you've had you're doing well to recognise anyone. Love to man and all.

Bug - I think you and M would enjoy the BBT series. It's worth starting at the beginning and watching it right through... the characters do develop over the various seasons. It's a bit like Friends with a brain... not so many girl lead characters but in most other ways an improvement.
