It's amazing what you can knock up with a few Dalek cast-offs and a bit of blue velvet, isn't it? Were it not for the fact that I know it's a lethal weapon, I might have guessed it to be a rather strange-looking musical instrument.

In any event, I know absolutely where this photo was taken, as I've been there — but I won't say, as it's rather unfair on the other quiz participants. It's the granite that gives it away! Though I am curious to discover how you got to Patagonia in such an unbelievably short space of time.

If it is granite then it has got to be Edinburgh - but what it is I have no idea.

I think Bug's right.

Ooh, dispute in our house. I said if it's granite it must be Aberdeen, but wondered why you were going backwards. My husband scoffed at it being granite, as it has lichen on it.

So he's going for the Black Watch monument outside Dundee. Decisive. It looks like Princes Street Gardens to me. I don't think that's cheating, because although I've been there I don't recognise it.

No lichen on granite? I rest my case!

This photo was taken at the Scotland/England border on the A68. I was standing in Scotland but the pipes were in England. Never seen a piper there before - he was selling cds!

For a moment I thought it was Calton Hill in Edinburgh. Alas, no.

How are you? I don't see you over at immaturity much.

Do visit. x

Aha! American lichen!

I do still call in, McGuire. Maybe I don't comment always. And I read about your performances elsewhere. Did I hear about you stripping for International Women's Day or something..?

As for the granite business... this could run and run...

Carter Bar presumably! I should have realised. It's one of my favourite roadside spots.

I have to give this one to Dominic then (even if SW did know where it was he didn't say). Sorry!
